On March 8, 2020, the students and faculty of Lone Star College went on Spring Break. It would be almost a year before they would return to campus. During that time, the Lone Star College community, together with all of humanity, endured one of the worst pandemics in modern history. Despite the struggles in keeping safe, life continued. Faculty and Students continued with classes virtually and later in person with limited sizes and safety precautions, such as social distancing and face masks.
To help us document this moment, in 2021 we asked the Faculty, Staff, and Students of Lone Star College to send images of the pandemic school environment. Where did you do most of your studying? Where did you teach classes from? What struggles did you have in attending college in the time of a pandemic?
Photos submitted and accepted are display on the library's Flickr account and added to the Images of a Pandemic Collection in the Archives.
Images and other objects from the Images of a Pandemic are copyright Lone Star College. Objects may be used under fair use, but commercial publication requires completion of a request for publication form and proper citation of the object in the publication. Approval of a request for publication does not clear an object of other legal obstacles to publication such as permission of subjects in the image or other copyright restrictions.
TLDR: If you are a student, it's ok to use these images in your college report, but if you are publishing these in a commercial medium then you must complete a request for publication.
