The Math Achievement Center (MAC) Lab can help with problems related to math subjects. The Biology Learning Center has many tools to help you better understand topics in biology.
Have a quick question about research or citations? Need help renewing a book or or accessing a database? Give us a phone call! Library Staff are ready to answer your questions during normal business hours. For questions on Research, Citations, and Library Databases, call the Reference Desk at 281-618-5707. For questions about library fines, holds, and book renewals, call the Circulation Desk at 281-618-5491.
Have a quick question like "How do I cite an article?" or "What database should I use?" or need to report a technical issue like a database not working, try Chat Reference. This service works a lot like many popular messaging services: chat via text messages with a librarian in real time. Click to Start a Chat Reference Session.
Have a more complicate question? Perhaps you need help developing a search strategy or you've tried several databases and you are still having trouble finding articles on your subject? Send an email to NH-AskALibrarian@lonestar.edu. Hold on your account? Question about a book due date or late book fine? You can email these questions to the Library Circulation Department at nhc.circ@lonestar.edu. Make sure to explain your issue in detail and a librarian from LSC-North Harris Library will reply to you with detailed instructions to help you with your problem.
Need help finding scholarly sources on a research topic? Would you like someone to review your citations and quotations to make sure they're formatted correctly? Make an appointment to meet in person with a librarian for help with research and citation.
Meetings take place at the Reference Desk on the 3rd floor of the LSC-North Harris Library (the building with the clock tower).
Can't make it into the library to meet with a librarian? Make an appointment to meet with a librarian virtually via the WebEx Video Conferencing Tool. A librarian can walk you through using library databases for research or review the quotes and citations in your paper to make sure they are formatted correctly.
