The Office of College Services was the predecessor to the Office of Marketing and Communications. As part of its mission to publicize the activities of the college, OCS took thousands of photographs which were later given to the LSC-North Harris Library Archive. These photographs span a time range from the founding of North Harris Community College in 1972 to the early 2000's.
Access to the physical collection is restricted and by appointment only. The majority of photographs in this collection have been uploaded to Flickr for easy viewing.
Not all metadata has made it into Flickr, making it difficult to find images beyond browsing. You can browse the finding aid below for various topics, or you can view and search it within Google Docs.
Images and other objects from the Office of College Services Collection are copyright Lone Star College. Objects may be used under fair use, but commercial publication requires completion of a request for publication form and proper citation of the object in the publication. Approval of a request for publication does not clear an object of other legal obstacles to publication such as permission of subjects in the image or other copyright restrictions.
TLDR: If you are a student, it's ok to use these images in your college report, but if you are publishing these in a commercial medium then you must complete a request for publication.
