Citation and Research

Librarians are available to assist with research and citation whenever the library is open. If you can't make it to the library, you can also call, chat, or email your questions to a librarian.

Books and Articles

Books

The library's book collection is on the second floor. The collection is separated into three groups: the Leisure Reading Collection, Academic Research Collection,  Law Collection and Reserves.

The Academic Collection contains works on a variety of topics. Books in this collection are arranged by Library of Congress (LC) Call Number. If you are looking for a book on a specific topic, you can search for it in the library catalog. Most books in this collection can be checked out for two weeks.

The Leisure Reading Collection includes popular fiction, manga, graphic novels, and other popular works. This collection is organized by the author's last name. Books in this collection can be checked out for two weeks.

The Law Collection includes copies of Vernon's Texas Statutes and Codes Annotated, the Federal Reporter, and other legal works. Books in the legal collection can not be checked out.

Professors sometimes put books in the Reserve collection. These are books that are in high demand by students in a class or for a particular assignment. Ask for Reserve Books at the 2nd Floor Service Desk. You must have a Student ID to checkout a Reserve Book, and the book can only be used for a limited time in the library.
