Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study. Lone Star College-North Harris Library takes part in this program, along with other divisions throughout the college.

Applying for Work Study is a little different than applying for a regular work position. Follow these steps to make sure your application is a successful one!

Click here to apply for the Work Study Pool. To complete the application process, you will need to create an account and to complete all questions to the best of your ability. Departments from all over North Harris pull student workers from this pool, so even if you don't get a job at the library, another department might be interested in hiring you.
Submit via email a Cover Letter and Résumé to NH-AskALibrarian@lonestar.edu, even if you have already submitted a Cover Letter and Résumé in your online application. If you don't do this, we may miss your application.

Remember: it's ok if you don't have job experience. If this is your first job or you do not have a long job history, think about other activities that might demonstrated your skills. Perhaps you helped organized a food drive, or you worked on a group project in high school. These are all things that you can use in your cover letter, résumé, and interview.
