The Brother SE600 Embroidery Machine can embroider patterns up to about 3.75 inches x 3.75 inches.
It works using embroidery files with the extension .PES (PES embroidery files give the machine instructions on how to stitch the design, including where to change colors and the type of stitch.)
How to Embroider Using the Machine
- Prepare your embroidery pattern.
- The machine has some preloaded embroidery patterns, but you can also design your own file using software like Inkscape and the embroidery extension Ink/Stitch.
- It needs to be saved as a .PES file for the machine to read it.
- Save your file to a USB flash drive.
- Prepare the Machine:
- Attach the embroidery presser foot.
- Check that the needle is an embroidery needle (75/14 needle) and change if needed.
- Attach the embroidery unit. (Important: make sure the machine is off when you attach or remove the unit.)
- Turn on the machine.
- Tap the touch screen and click ok on the message that pops up. (Be sure to keep your hands away from the machine)
- Prepare the Embroidery Hoop:
- Choose the appropriate stabilizer for the type of fabric that you are embroidering.
- Tear away stabilizer for woven fabrics (no stretch), Cut away stabilizer for knit fabrics (those with stretch)
