LSC-North Harris does not currently employ French language tutors. But as a Lone Star College student, you have access to Brainfuse, an online tutoring service. You can virtually meet with a French language tutor employed by Brainfuse for up to 90 minutes per semester. Learn how to sign up by accessing the Virtual Learning Assistance Center.
Your French instructor may tell you to record a virtual conversation with another student in the French language. A good way to do this is with the teleconferencing app Zoom. Zoom meetings up to 40 minutes long are free. You can also record Zoom meetings as MP4 files.
Both students participating in a meeting should create free Zoom accounts. One student should start a meeting, then invite the other student to join.
To start a meeting, click on Host a Meeting in the upper left corner.
Click on Participants at the bottom of the window.
Click on Invite to invite another student to your Zoom meeting.
Once another student has joined the meeting, click on Record to begin recording the meeting. At the end of the meeting, Zoom will give you the option to produce a MP4 file from the meeting.
